The dance industry is no stranger to the innovative and elaborate work of multi-year Capezio A.C.E Award finalist, and Conteur’s Artistic Director, Eryn Waltman.

Currently residing in Toronto, Canada, Waltman has spent nearly twenty-six years establishing her artistic abilities as a dancer, teacher, and choreographer across Canada and the United States. She has taught students extensively at the competitive and professional levels; and as a master in choreography, has developed a thorough knowledge and understanding of the training and development involved in the maturity of a professional dancer, and the intricacy of thought through the creative process.

Recently, Ms. Waltman was commissioned to choreograph a piece for Andrew Winghart’s show “Out of Darkness”, which premiered in Los Angeles.. Other select credits include: Opera House Bazaar and at Toronto’s annual Choreographer’s Ball, Music Video choreography for 2011 Juno Award Winner – Shad (“Keep Shining”), 2011 Stylus Award Nominee – Aleesia (“Not That Girl”), Kai (“I Choose Me”); Mia Martina (“Heartbreaker,”), Blake McGrath (“Heaven”), and Chloe Charles (Refrain from Fire). Over the past number of years, Waltman has been nominated as one of the few North American finalists to showcase her work at the Capezio A.C.E Awards, an annual industry event, held in New York City, in which selected choreographers are invited to present their work before an influential audience and a panel of prestigious adjudicators.

As a graduate of the University of Western Ontario, with a Bachelor’s degree in social psychology, she has since applied her comprehensive understanding of the human condition throughout her work. Distinguished by her extensive use of floor work, partnering, precision in detail and ability to convey a story, Ms. Waltman has been awarded “Choreographer of the Year” from the  National Committee of the American Dance Awards.
